protect personal information in connection with the Site and our online services, and explains the rights available to you.


This Privacy Policy is intended to comply with applicable Canadian federal and provincial privacy legislation, including the
Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec’s Act Respecting the Protection of
Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25). By using the Site, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy
Policy.


1. DEFINITIONS
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • “Personal Information” means any information about an identifiable individual, as defined under PIPEDA and Law25. This includes, but is not limited to, name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, IP address, account credentials, and order details.
  • “Site” refers to the K&L Industrial Supplies Inc. website at klindustrial.com and any related pages, services, or applications maintained by K&L.
  • “We,” “us,” and “our” means K&L Industrial Supplies Inc.
  • “You” and “your” means the individual visiting or using the Site.
  • “Privacy Officer” means the individual designated by K&L as responsible for overseeing compliance with this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy legislation.

3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
We collect Personal Information that you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Submit a contact form inquiry (name, email address, message content);
  • Register for a customer account on the Site (name, email address, mailing/billing address, password);
  • Submit a quote request through the Site (contact details, product selections, quantities, and any associated notes or purchase order references);
  • Communicate with us by email, telephone, or other means.
  • Please note that customer accounts are subject to manual review and approval by K&L before access is granted. By submitting registration information, you consent to our collection and use of that information as described in this Privacy Policy.


3.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically, including:

We use the Personal Information we collect for the following purposes:

6. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell your Personal Information to third parties. We may share your Personal Information only in the following

These parties are contractually required to use your information only for the purposes of providing services to us and are subject to confidentiality obligations.

7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS
The following third-party services are active on the Site and may process your Personal Information:

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC, United States): We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized data about Site usage, including pages visited, session duration, and device and browser information. Google processes this data on servers located in the United States.
  • Cloudflare (Cloudflare Inc., United States): Our Site uses Cloudflare as a content delivery network and security service. Cloudflare processes network traffic data, including IP addresses, as part of delivering and protecting the Site.
  • Hivelocity Ventures Corp. (United States): Our Site and all data submitted through it are stored on servers operated by Hivelocity, a hosting provider with infrastructure located in the United States. See Section 9 for further information on cross-border data transfers.


8. RETENTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to maintain
business records, and to comply with our legal obligations. When Personal Information is no longer required, it is securely
deleted or anonymized.
In determining appropriate retention periods, we consider the nature and sensitivity of the information, the potential risk of
harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, and applicable legal requirements.
We also take reasonable steps to ensure that Personal Information in our possession is as accurate, complete, and up to
date as necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used.
 


9. CROSS-BORDER TRANSFER OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
K&L Industrial Supplies Inc. is a Canadian company headquartered in Quebec. Some of the third-party service providers we
use to operate the Site are located outside of Canada and Quebec, including in the United States. As a result, your
Personal Information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and potentially other jurisdictions
outside of Quebec and Canada.
In accordance with Law 25, we have conducted a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) in connection with these cross-border
transfers. Before communicating Personal Information outside of Quebec, we assess whether the destination jurisdiction
provides an adequate level of protection and, where required, we implement contractual safeguards with our service
providers.
Known cross-border data flows include:

  • Google (United States): Analytics data processed via Google Analytics.
  • Cloudflare (United States): Traffic and network data processed via Cloudflare’s content delivery network.
  • Hivelocity Ventures Corp. (United States): Site data and user account information stored on Hivelocity hosting servers.

By using the Site, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your Personal Information outside of Quebec and
Canada as described above.


10. SECURITY
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your Personal Information against
unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include access controls, secure storage
practices, and contractual security obligations imposed on our service providers.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your
Personal Information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.


11. PRIVACY BREACH NOTIFICATION
In the event of a confidentiality incident involving Personal Information that presents a risk of serious injury to an individual,
K&L will fulfill its notification obligations under Law 25, including notifying the Commission d’accès à l’information (CAI) and
affected individuals where required. We maintain an internal register of confidentiality incidents as required by applicable
law.


12. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Under PIPEDA and Law 25, you have the following rights with respect to your Personal Information:

  • Right to access: You may request access to the Personal Information we hold about you.
  • Right to correction: You may request that inaccurate or incomplete Personal Information be corrected.
  • Right to withdrawal of consent: You may withdraw your consent to the collection, use, or disclosure of your Personal Information at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.
  • Right to data portability: You may request that we provide your Personal Information in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Right to de-indexing: Where applicable under Law 25, you may request that personal information about you be de-indexed from a technology product where its continued dissemination causes you serious injury and is not justified by the public interest.
  • Right to be informed of automated decisions: Where we use automated processing of your Personal Information to make decisions that affect you, you have the right to be informed of this.

13. DO NOT TRACK
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. The Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. You may
manage tracking preferences through your browser settings.


14. AGE OF CONSENT
The Site is intended for use by businesses and professionals and is not directed at individuals under the age of 14. We do
not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under 14 years of age. If you believe we have inadvertently
collected such information, please contact our Privacy Officer and we will promptly delete it.


15. LINKS TO OTHER SITES
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those
websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.


16. EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS (CASL COMPLIANCE)
K&L complies with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Commercial electronic messages will only be sent to you
where we have obtained your express or implied consent as required by CASL. You may unsubscribe from commercial
electronic messages at any time by contacting our Privacy Officer.


17. AMENDMENTS
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an
updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised
Privacy Policy.
